I was ready to buy a Tesla just to have my Maps in good plain view!

A while back, the state of CA came out with a law that you could no longer hold your phone while driving. This was a good law. I needed this kind of motivation to search out a decent solution of where to mount my phone in my old truck. This is what I found and here is my a review of the best wireless car charger & phone mount I could find. Yes, that is me in the thumbnail of the Youtube video and yes, I’m that happy with this thing. This mount allowed me to position my phone in the most perfect spot you could possibly have. I coupled that with a blue tooth adapter I picked up fairly inexpensively and now I am totally chords free in a 16 year old truck–not bad!

It wirelessly charges my phone or at least maintains the charge on the phone. One thing about these wireless chargers, they get hot. So try to keep your phone out of the sun the best you can. In the summer time, try to aim one of your air vents at it if possible. In the winter time, make sure your heated air vent is not pointing at the phone. The consequence of your phone running hot is efficiency suffers, speed suffers, and your phone can even power down to keep itself from melting.

If you are not a fan of the suction mounts, you can get this same version in an air vent holder or stick on mount. And if you already have a mount stuck on your dash, many of these ball joints are fairly uniform/universal in size; therefore, there is a good chance you can just slip this over your current ball joint that is already mounted to your dash and you will be good to go!
